The GT-R was then ready for the next process. For my peace of mind, the bodywork was measured using the paint thickness gauge. No hidden signs of repaired bodywork here, just readings of healthy paint depth.

The car was then given a hand polish of Autoglym SuperGlym which was allowed to cure for approximately 45 minutes before buffing off prior to a 2nd coat of SuperGlym. Once this was taken off, the whole bodywork was then given a clean with a pre-wax cleanser, Swissvax Cleaner Fluid. Once this had been removed the car was ready for its protection coat.

The choice of wax to be used for this protection detail was the highly favoured Swissvax Zuffenhausen (nice smell too). This was applied by hand to all parts of the car and was left to cure for 20 minutes before being buffed off with a new microfibre cloth. The vehicle was then given another visual inspection, protective coverings from inside the car were removed and then the final and last wax coating was applied to the bodywork.

The inside was given a quick flick round with the hoover, tyres dressed and a last minute chance to take a few pictures, before locking up and handing the keys over to the salesman, ready for a 8am collection the next morning.
