After polishing, the car was then given its first coat of wax. The Dodo Juice Supernatural wax was applied to the car using a damp, clean applicator pad and using short circular motions, the entire car was given a coating of Supernatural

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This was left to cure for approx 20 minutes whilst I tidied up the 4 exhaust pipes using Autosol metal polish. The tyres were all dressed and the previous coating of Autobahn wheel wax was removed, ready for their second application.

The first layer of SN was then buffed off, ready for its second coat of Supernatural. Whilst waiting for this to cure for a short while, the door shuts, grills, windows and glass were all treated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once the second layer of wax had been buffed, the interior was given a quick hoover, glass cleaned and all protective strips and stickers were removed.

The car was then ready for its third and final layer of wax. This layer was left to cure for approximately 1 hour before being buffed. By this time,the M3 was really shining and felt so smooth and looked very glossy. The final touch to this detail was to give the car a quick spray with Zaino Z8 Grand Final Spray, to enhance the gloss, depth and shine to the bodywork.

 

PROTECTION DETAIL BMW M3 COUPÉ

Due to a last minute re-schedule on another detail, I was able to accommodate this protection detail on a BMW M3 Coupé.

The vehicle was purchased through Elms BMW Cambridge and was waiting for me at their local warehouse ready to be detailed. Having been previously advised that the M3 had been PDI'd, I was somewhat surprised to see the vehicle sitting outside looking rather dusty and a few protective sheets still applied to the car. However, if honest, I prefer the vehicle not to have been touched by the dealership prior to my detail, as I know exactly what I am working with.

So first up, the protective strips were carefully removed using a small amount of tar & adhesive remover and the vehicle was given a pre-rinse with traffic film remover. Whilst this was pre-soaking the car, I went round removing the sales stickers and writing from the windscreen. Using a PH neutral car and body work shampoo the whole car was given a gentle wash using a natural sea sponge and detailing brushes to reach the awkward bits. The car was then rinsed prior to being moved into the workshop for drying, using a clean microfibre drying towel.

A quick inspection around the car for any visual signs of neglect before continuing with the protection detail. The M3 was given a quick clay to remove any impurities from the bodywork and I was surprised as to how clean the vehicle was. After the clay, the car was then polished with Autoglym SuperGlym as this is ideal for a new car, new paint and maximises depth and gloss. This was left to cure for approx 30 minutes before buffing off with a clean microfibre cloth. Whilst the polish was left to cure, the 19" double spoke alloy wheels were given their first coat of Swissvax Autobahn wheel wax.
